Please inquire for detailed pricing and options.

Day 1 − Setoda & The Coastal Heritage Ryokan

Slow down to the gentle rhythms of island life at a boutique ryokan revived from a 19th-century grand merchant residence, and relax your body and mind with regional hospitality and seasonal cuisine.

Afternoon ──Island Stroll & Heritage Stay at Azumi Setoda

Begin your journey in Setoda, a tranquil port town on Ikuchijima Island along the famous Shimanami Kaido cycling route. Check in to Azumi Setoda, a One MICHELIN Key sanctuary designed by architect Shiro Miura inside the beautifully restored estate of the wealthy Horiuchi family. Settle into an airy room where natural sunlight filters through traditional washi paper, and relax in your modern room's private bath, or cross the street to Yubune for a complimentary, refreshing soak in the community hot baths and sauna adorned with cheerful maritime murals.

Evening ──Fine Setouchi Dining with Local Pairings

Gather at the stylish on-site restaurant overlooking a serene courtyard garden. For dinner, indulge in an optional seasonal course banquet showcasing the region’s finest seafood, fruits, and vegetables (additional fees apply). Each dish is served on antique tableware inherited from the original Horiuchi residence. Optional pairings of fine Setouchi wine and Hiroshima sake, perfectly curated to complement your evening, further highlight the flavors of the meal (additional fees apply).

Day 2 − Osaki-Kamijima & The Art of Fermentation

Journey across the calm blue waters of the Seto Inland Sea to discover the deep-rooted brewing traditions of the islands through an exclusive, private culinary craft experience.

Morning ──Island Breakfast & Departure

Wake up to the gentle sea breeze and enjoy a nutritious, refined breakfast featuring fresh local ingredients. Enjoy a relaxing morning until checking out at 12:00 PM. Afterwards, embark on a scenic private boat transfer to the island of Osaki-Kamijima. As you cruise through the island-dotted waves, take in views of fishing boats, working ports, and green hillsides that have long supported life along the Seto Inland Sea.

Afternoon ──Soy Sauce Making at the Historic Brewery

Arrive at the historic Okamoto Soy Sauce Brewery, a family-owned treasure established in 1932. Led by third-generation master brewer Yasufumi Okamoto, take an exclusive private tour of the facility to learn about all-natural fermentation in century-old cedar barrels. Roll up your sleeves for a rare hands-on experience stirring the rich moromi (unfiltered mash) with long wooden paddles. Your cultural immersion concludes with a curated tasting of three distinct soy sauce varieties, and you will leave with a special recipe and a souvenir mini-bottle exclusive to brewery guests.
